AUSTRALIAN. [eeutee’s telegeams.] MELBOURNE, July 21. The final coarse for the Waterloo Cup was won to-day by Capri. The Puree was won by Wanton Lass, and the Plato by Rhodanthe. The meeting has passed off moat successfully. Messrs C. S. Ross and Co., of Melbourne, report the sale of a cargo of kauri pine, ex Bella Mary. Hewn logs realised an average of 16s per 100 ft, and sawn flitches an average of 16s 6d. SYDNEY, July 21. New Zealand wheat has advanced 2d per bushel, and is now quoted at 5s 3d. Now Zealand oats are unchanged at 3s 6d, and maize at 5s Id. Sugar Company’s No. 1 pieces, per ton, £SO. The Commercial Bank of Sydney has declared a dividend of 25 per cent, for the last year. It has transpired that the Government now propose to adopt a system of light railways in place of tramways, which it was intended to construct in country districts as feeders for main railway lines. ADELAIDE, July 21. Wheat is very firm at 6s 6d, being an advance of 6d. Town flour, per ton, £l4; country brands, £l3 15s (sic). The market for freights is unchanged.
