AFFAIRS IN EGYPT. «, HESITATION OF THE PORTE, DESPATCH OF BRITISH FORCE. ARABI PASHA'S EXACTIONS, ' [betjter's telegrams. I LONDON, July 20. The " Times" this morning publishes a paragraph stating that in consequence of the hesitation of the Porte in replying to the request of the Great Powers for the despatch of Turkish troops to Egypt, the English Government have to-day issued orders for the British expeditionary force which has recently been organised to proceed withont delay to Alexandria. ALEXANDRIA, July 20. Intelligence is to hand from Kafradowar that Arabi Pasha is collecting and receiving the taxes from the inhabitants of the district, and is further making extensive requisitions upon them for money and supplies. [" AGE " SPECIALS.] LONDON, July 19, 4.45 p.m. Dervish Pasha has returned from Alexandria. One hundred houses are burning at Smyrna. The inhabitants at Alexandria are very indignant at the nonlanding of troops. Suez ia now almost deserted. It is said that only twenty Europeans remain at Cairo. General Grant has written expressing sympathy with England in the present crisis.
