THE EXHIBITION.

Very rapid progress is being made in all parts of the Exhibition building in the work of dismantling the various bays of their contents, tho New Zealand Court looking particularly bare. In the British and Foreign Courts the work of repacking is actively carried on, the various avenues being blocked with packing cases of various dimensions. The art gallery ia almost shorn of the exquisite works of art with which its walls wore adorned, but a portion of its space has been set apart for the beautiful pictures Mr Fletcher intends submitting to public competition on Saturday next. A portion of the floor space is filled with, the display of the many Japanese novelties that Messrs H. Matson and Co. have been instructed to offer to public competition this day. The committee of the Ladies' Court wish the various exhibitors therein to apply at once for the delivery of their various exhibits. A rumor is current that it is the intention of the ladies exhibiting in this court to have a sale of their exhibits, and devote the proceeds to a charitable purpose, but Mr H. B. Webb states there has been no expressed intention to that effect. The Amateur Opera Company, under the direction of Signor Carmini Morley, are very assiduous in the rehearsal ot 44 Isidore.” Its fine music is most exquisitely interpreted by the Austrian Band, and judging from the rehearsal, the production will be a success. The principals in the cast are—lsidore, Madam Morley; Carlos, Signor Morley; Alphons, Arthur Liesant; Manual, Mr Johnston.
