CHRISTCHURCH. Fblday, July 14. [Bsforo C. Whitefoord, Esq., R.M., and R. Westenra, J.B.] Dbunkennbss. —Catherine McDonald, who formerly appeared frequently in the dock charged with this offence, but who has been leading a reformed life for one year, was dismissed with a caution, Jane Mahoney was fined ss. William Tengno, for using obscene language in a thoroughfare, was flood 20j, and for "assaulting the constable who arrested him, 40s ; in default of payment to be imprisoned six days, and kept to hard labor.
Civil Cases. —ln George v Ratigan, claim £2 19s 81, there was no appearance of plaintiff. The case was struck out, defendant being allowed 8i for his expanses. Judgments were for plaintiffs by default in Mason, Struthers and Co, v Chapman, £36 lls 3d ; Wilson, Sawtell and Co. v Oonnon, £6l 18e 3d (with immediate execution) ; Slater r Javie, £2O Os lOi ; Rowe v Tudball, £SO 2s 5d ; and Rowe v Javie, £2O Is lOd (with immediate execution.) Boysc, Stead and|Oo. v Atkinson was adjourned till July 21»t.
