COURSING.

SHEFFIELD COUE3INO- CLUB. The third meeting of the Sheffield Club was concluded on Wednesday at the JUangor estate. The attendance was good, considering the counter attraction of the excursion train to Christohuroh. Hares were veiy numerous and strong, but wild, in consequence of which l'rgc numbers escaped. One feature of the meeting was that only eight hares were killed during the two days* work. A grateful word of praise is due to the ladies who attended the meeting in large numbers both days. At the finish three hearty cheers were given for the gentlemen who kindly placed their property at the olub'e disposal, and also to the judge and slipper. It may be stated that tho beating at the commencement of the first day was wretched, but afterwards was everything to be desired. Mr Campbell was the fortunate winner of the President's Cup, and he wes congratulated on all sides on hia buccosb. The following are the results of the second day : Pbesident's Cup (continued). Mary Gray (ns) beat Snowball Gipsy Queen ran a bye Third Round. Mary Gray baat Patrician Callao beat Gipsy Queen final. Mary Gray beat Callao Consolation, for all dogs beaten in first round of Cup. First Bound. Grip beat Sir Roger Wanaka beat Scamp Barbelle beat Nettle Spanker drawn Second Bound. Wanaka beat Grip Barbelle ran a bye Third Round and Final. Wanaka beat Barbelle. Offing to the wildnoss of the hares most of the courses were very heavy. This meeting concludes a very successful season for tie olub. There will yet be a scratoh meeting of the members, but constituted quite locally.
