CHRISTCHURCH. •Tuesday, July 11. [Before J. Ollivier, Esq , R.M., and R, Westenra, Esq., J.P.] Drunkenness,— George Craw was charged with being drunk on July 2nd, when he could not appear on account of having met with an accident. This man being a determined drunkard, and having figured several times before the Court, the Bench recommended Mrs Craw, who was present, to send her husband, as a dipsomaniac, to the Lunatic Asylum for a few months. The advice, however, being declined, Craw was discharged on the present charge, but an order was directed to issue, prohibiting all licensees in Christchurch and Lyttelton from supplying him with intoxicating liquor during a period of aix months. R. Harper was fined 10s. Elizabeth Bennet, a confirmed drunkard, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment with hard labor. Daniel Munroand two men for first offences, were each fined ss. A charge of assault against J. Lindsay ,was withdrawn. Larceny.—Peter Linn, arrested on warrant issued at Greytown, N.I, charged with the larceny of £ll 6s 6i and a bridle, two blankets, and a gun, valued at £5 10j, was remanded for one week, to be brought up at Wellington, earlier if possible.
