The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Thursday, July 6th, were as follows : Spirits, .£394 16s Id; tobacco, £54 I3a 6d ; cigars, £3O 12s ; wine, £74 6s; beer, £3l 5s ; sugar, £53 3s lid; tea, £6B 19a 6d; goods by weight, £92 6s 6a ; ad valorem, £7O 3s ; other duties, ss. Total, £B7O 10s 6d. At the usual sitting of the Waste Lands Board, held at Christchurch on Thursday, July 6th, sales wore made as follows : —Ordinary: Ashley, 20a 3r 4p; Selwyn, 2a Ir 24p; Akaroa, 86a; Ashburton, 89a 25p; Geraldine, 5a 3r 18p. Total acreage sold, 204 a Or 31p. Total cash received, £IOB 7a 9d. Eefunds on account of former purchases were made in the amount of £147 0a 9d. COMMEBCIAL TELEGEAMS. Auckland, July 7. Flax rope is a little easier at £42 per ton. The Auckland Fibre Company will commence operations nest month, and doubtless this will have the effect of considerably modifying present high prices. In the hay and corn market, as well as in that of general farm produce and flour, a farr amount of business was done, but the tone is not quite so firm as last week. Oatmeal is firmer at £lB 10a to £l9. There is a great demand for Southern sharps, which are now quoted at |£7, but the market is very bare. Oats are if anything easier, in response to increased supplies from the South. The Sydney market has became glutted, and Southern pro.dneers are sending large supplies on that account to this market. "Barley is firmer, and good milling samples are difficult to procure. Present quotations are 5s fdtoSsSdper bushel. The extraordinary demand for batter has abated, and consequently the market is weaker, though for very fine samples of salt butter for the Sydney market la 9d per lb can bo obtained.
