KBW BILIiS. ► The Hon Mr Whitaker gave notice to bring in Bilk to Amend the Mining Companies Act, 1877 ; and the Bailways Authorisations Act, 1881. He also gave notice to bring in a Bill to Amend and Consolidate the Law Kalating to Legal Practitioaers. A Bill on this subject was received fioin the Judicature Commission and read a first time. QUESTIONS. In reDly to Sir G. Whitmore, The Hon. Mr Whitakeb said when Sir G. Grey's Bill came up the Council would have the three measures before them, and would than be able to mais ono good Bill out of the three. LEAVE OP AB3ENCE. A nssasage from the Aoting- Governor notified that leave of absence had been given to the ?lon. John Johnston for the session. COMPANIES BILL. The Companies Bill was raad a third time and passed. THE DOBMANT COMMISSION. Beplying to Sir G. Whitmore, The Hon. Mr Whitakbr said the Government intended to take no aotion regarding the alleged inadvisability of the administration of the Government devolving upon a mombor of the judioial Bench during the Governor's absence. THE FISHERIES BILL. I i The Fisheries Bill was re-committed on tho motion of the Hon. Mr Nubse, with a ■ view to making an amendment providing that > a single license to fish should run through the colony, instead of a license being re--3 quired for eaoh district.
