fREUTER’S TELEGRAMS.] MELBOURNE, July 5. The Treasurer’s financial statement was again under consideration in the Legislative Assembly last night. The Marchioness of Normanby is recovering from bar indisposition, but is still confined to her room. ADELAIDE, July 5. Harges, the Auckland levanter, was examined yesterday in bankruptcy. His liabilities were shown to be £1486, but the estate shows a surplus of £876. BRISBANE, July 5. The Queensland Parliament was opened yesterday by his Excellency the Governor, who in his speech on the occasion announced that proposals had been made by certain syndicates for the construction of a trans-continental railway, which would probably be accepted. The speech further stated that immigration to the colony would be encouraged, and that communications were being exchanged with the Indian Government on tho subject of the emigration- of coolies to Queensland.
