The body has been identified r.e ths.t of the wife ox Alexander Beattie. It is thought that the deceased and her husbicd were not living en good terms, and about u month ago Beattie was orres'od and bound over to keep the peace fur threatening to bum the houoe of a neighbor in whose houue he had found hie vtife. 'Hhepott mortem on the body of the vfoman found in a cretik near Fables was no's held to-day. A jury was empannellsd, and the evidence went to show that when the woman wis taken out of the water a handkerohief wits found to be tightly tied round her neck, and there was a wound in the throat and a bruiss on the face. A portion of the drew had blood stains on it. The police asked for an adjournment. The post mortem will take plica to-morrow;
