[eEUl’Ee’s TELEQEAMB.] LONDON, June 27. In the House of Commons this afternoon the Marquis of Hartington, Secretary of State for India, in reply to a question, said that the Government were at present in communication with the Marquis of Ripon, Yieeroy of India, on the subject of the despatch of Native troops to Egypt.

It is announced that Baron Mohrenheim, at present Russian ambassador at Copenhagen, has been appointed ambassador at London, vice Prince Lohanoff, appointed to Vienna. The cricket match, Australians versus Eleven of the United South of England, was resumed to-day at Chichester. Tho weather was very fine, and a largo number of spectators was present. The Australians continued their first innings, which closed for a total of 501. Bannermaa wasstumped for 88, and Horan was caught for 112. At tho close of tho day’s play tho Home team in their first innings had lost three wickets for G 7 runs. Mr. W. G. Grace only scored 4. Consols remain at 99-|. Now Zealand securities are quoted as follows : —Five per Cent. 10-40 Loan, 105|; Five per Cent. 1889 Loan, 106 ; Four and a-half per Cent. 1879-1904 Loan, 1021. Tho markets for colonial breadstuffs and tallow are without quotable change. Scotch pig iron, No. 1, f.o.b. in Clyde, remains at 51s per ton. A fair demand was experienced at to-day’s wool sale. The catalogue comprised 6900 hales. Walsh, an Irishman who was recently arrested at Clerkenwell in connection with tho seizure of arms at that place, was brought up at tho Police Court yesterday on a charge of high treason and committed for trial. Rumor is current here to the effect that tho authorities are in possession of evidence revealing the existence of a wide spread Fenian conspiracy. It is reported that the Egyptians are abont to take steps to obtain possession and command of the Snez Canal, and it is further stated that secret preparations have been completed to destroy the banks of the Canal in order to prevent the passage of ships.
