Kaiapoi MaqistsateS. —ln spite of the fact that justices are at times as plentiful as blackberries in this town, the clerk to the bench, in order to obtain a quorum of two for the weekly Court on Monday, had to despatch a police officer to Bmgiora on Sunday to ask Mr J. O. Boys to attend. The Mayor sat with Mr Boys. Of the other members of the bench, Mr Whitefoord, B.M. and coroner, is conducting an enquiry in Dunedin, Mr Porter, 8.M., had illness in his family, Mr Isaac Wilson was attending his Legislative duties in Wellington, and Mr James Hurse was away on a wedding jaunt.
