THE EXHIBITION.

Blondin’* fan's on the tight rope wore highly appreciated by the auaii ncc, and Ibe Austrian band played a capital selection of maiio. In the evening the Austrian bond gave some capital el ring music, including a new valie, which was excellently played and highly appreciated. Yesterday the children of the Kaapm Borough school, including over 300 boys and girls, visited the Exhibition in charge of the hand master, Mr R. J- Alexander, and their teachers. A special train conveyed the party to Addington, leaving ICaiapoi at 10 80, in which ware Mr Parnhnm, chairman, and the members of the School Committee, as well as several parents of the scholars. At the Exhibition they amu'ed themselves for some hours, and probably learnt many practical lessons from the objects exhibited; and sang three or four pieces of music, whioh it is to be regretted wore not included in the competition for the schools some time ago, as the scholars sang with very good effect. The special train returned home at 5.30 p.m., and after hearty cheers had been given by the scholars for the committee and the teachers they were then dismissed. To-day the dog show, for whioh a large number of entries have been made, will taka place, and Blondin will also appear. Qillon, the chairman of the Press Gallery, stating that it is probable that seven or eight members of the Fourth Estate will accept the kind invitation of the promoters to visit the Exhibition in company with the members of both House®. Visitors to the Exhibition will learn with regret that Professor Charles Bailey, one of the institutions of the Exhibition, has left for fresh fields and pastures now. Mr Bailey, during his stay here, was the source of on immense amount of amusement to the habitues of the Exhibition, and, apart from hia connection in this respect, ho had made a large number of friends by his geniality.
