INDUSTERIAL ASSOCIATION.

An adjourned meeting of the committee of ti e above association was held last evening in the rooms of tho association, Hereford street, at seven o’clock. Present—Messrs Howland (iu tho chair), D. Beete. Waller, Shanks, Bargh, England, and A. K. Kirk. The Chairman stated the object of the mooting, which was the discussion of the Eight Hours and tho Employers Liability Bills. Ee would first read a letter from Sir Robert Allan, who wrote calling attention to soma of the stringent clauses of the Employers Liability Bill, and suggesting that a deputation should ba appointed by the association to wait upon tho Canterbury members, calling their attention thereto.

The letter was ordered to be laid on tho table.

The Chairmen then proceeded to read tho Employers Liability Bill, clause by clause, which were discussed seriatim.

After a long discussion it was resolved, on the motion of Mr D. Reese committee of the Industrial Association are satisfied to leave this matter, viz., the Employers Liability Bill in the hands of tho members of the General Assembly." Tho Eight Hours Bill was then considered, and it was unanimously resolved, on tho motion of Mr D. Reese, seconded by Mr E. W. Eng : aod—“ That the committee of tho Industrial Association gives a cordial adhesion to the Eight Hours Bill.” The meeting then adjourned.
