The sculling match, Largan versus Pearce, for £IOO aside, was rowed on the Thames tc-day, and was won oaeily by the former.
The Orient steamship Cuzco, which left Melbourne on May Ist, arrived at Plymouth to-day. Her cargo of frozen meat is reported to be in excellent condition. remain at 100£, ex div. New Zealand securities are unchanged. Adelaide wheat, ex store, remains at 51s; New Zealand ditto has declined to 50s; Adelaide flour, ex store, 35 s. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 2,020,000 quarters, being 10,000 quarters less than the quantity last week. At the wool sale to-day 12,000 bales were offered. A firm and active demand was again experienced. June 17. Great efforts are being made to push the Irish Repression Bill through Parliament, and its provisions are being daily discussed ia the House of Commons. Seven clauses ef the measure have now been adopted in committee. MALTA, June 16. The English Channel Squadron has arrived here to reinforce the Mediterranean Squadron, now at Alexandria. Several British transports are also here, and are emlarking troops in view of possible contingencies in Egypt. CONSTANTINOPLE, June 17. Further communications have passed between the Ambassadors and the Porte with regard to the European Conference, which it has boen proposed to hold for the settlement of the Egyptian crisis. The Sultan, however, persists in his refusal to meet the views of the Powers, despite their recommendations. ALEXANDRIA, June 16. The panic amongst Europeans in this country is increasing, and the exodus continues. A large number of those who have left their homes have gone aboard merchantmen and warships of their conntries now in port. June 17. It has transpired that the Khedive, acting at the instance of Germany and Austria, is endeavoring to form a new Ministry, in which Arabi Pasha is included.
