John Pugh, who had been under medical treatment, was ordered to pay 10a 61 for his maintenance while in gaol, and discharged. Assault. — Peter Battigan was oharged with assaulting E. George. Mr McOonnel appeared to prosecute, Mr Gresson for the defence. Mr MoOonnol statad that prosecutor was, on account of the injuries he had received, unable to appear. A remand was granted till Monday next; accused to find bail—himself in £SO, and two sureties in £25 each. Sly Gbog Selling.—A case of this kind against Mabel A. Boyd, a brothel keeper, was adjourned till Saturday. LYTTELTON. Thubsday, Junb 15. [Before John Ollivier, Esq., 8.M., and J. Wilford Smith, Esq., J.P.J Bad Language.—A youug fellow named Frask Street w&b oharged with using bad language in London street. Theodore Bentoul gave evidence cs to hearing the language. Charles Burns gave oorroborative evidence, also that the offence was oommitted on Saturday evening, when the footpath wbb crowded with pedestrians. The accused had two previous conviotions against him for bad behaviour. He pleaded guilty to the charge. He was fined £5, or one month's imprisonment.

Civil Cases.—Hatherley v Fisher, claim £6 4j 6d ; judgment summons. Immediate ayment ordered, or fourtoon days' impria nment, Matter v Lorton; Mr H.J N. Nalder for plaintiff. . Judgment for plaintiff. Horbert v Campbell, claim £l3 Mr H. N. Nalder for plaintiff; Mr J. 0. Oorr for defendant. The claim was for wages, a«i cook of the steamer Kangaroo, of whirtb defendant was master. Judgment was ,(iven for the plaintiff, costs, and counsel's foe £3 Is. J. Hodgon v McDonald, claim 15j. Judgment by default. Struck ofp the Roil.—Forty-one names were struck off the electoral roll on the application of the Registrar, they being either aliens or absent from the district.
