In the Court of Appeal yesterday a newtrial was granted in the case of Connor v Mackay, on fi/a issues, dealing with timber transactions, A new trial mbs rafn'ed on the other issues. Judgment was also given in the following Crown cases :—Regina v W-Jdo-man, conviction upheld, and sentence to bo passsd next sittings Supreme Oor.ri, Otago ; Regina v Thomas, conviction quasned.
