Sir, —According to your instructions we have made a practical test and thorough examination of the following Sewing Machines, viz., tho Wheeler and Wilson, Jones and Co , Wertheim, and tho Davis, and the results of our experiments r.ro set forth in the tabulated statement attached. We find that the Wertheim and Jones all of the Singer typo and similar In construction, and should be classed in the same order. The Wheolar and Wileon differs In construction, hut the results of our experiments are similar to the former named. Ad regards the DAVIS, we cannot but agree with the jury that it is very superior to any of the others, and went through every test to our entire satisfaction.
