[REUTER'S TELEGRAMS.! SYDNEY, May 29. Arrived —Yesterday afternoon, steamship Alhambra, from New Zealand. Thomas Walker, of Yarralla, who is about to proceed on a trip to England, has distributed tho sum of £IO,OOO among various Now South Wales charities. The Krug Champagne Sculling trophy, which was rowed for oa tho Parramatta river oa Saturday, was won by Fittes, tho Victorian amateur sculler. MELBOURNE, May 29. The Victorian Humano Society proposes to give rewards to the survivors of tho recent disaster at Timaru. Mr Edwards has been awarded £4OOO, and Mr Tunson £2500, for injuries sustained at Jollimont by the railway accident last year.
