[“ Age ” Specials.] 1 LONDON, May 18. Tho new lighthouse erected on the Eddystone rooks, off the Coast of Cornwall, replaced by the famous Smeaton structure, has been opened. The Son. Mr MacDonald, Premier of Canada, has announced that during tho recess the Dominion Parliament Ministry will endeavor to negotiate commercial treaties with France and Spain, with the approval of the Imperial Government. The Irish Judges disapprove of the proposal of Government to empower a Commission of three Judges to try criminal charges without assistance by jury in the districts in Ireland where ordinary law is powerless to repress crime. Instead of absolute suspension of trial by jury they nrgs the Government to enact that special juriee should bo empannelled to try offences in proclaimed districts.

The Porte has officially protested against the despatch of the Anglo-French ft set to Egypt as an infringement of tho powers exercised by the Sultan as Suzerain of that country. An Irish newspapers, published in New York, referring to the Phoenix Park tragedy, asserts that (he murder of Mr Gladstone, Mr Forster, and Mr Burke had been deliberately planned in America, but that at the lost moment the sentence against Mr Gladstone had been revoked.

Tto statement which has been made that the “ Times ” is about to reduce its price to Id is authoritatively contradicted. Tho report is stated to be absolutely false. Miohael Davitt, in a speech delivered at Manchester on Saturday evening, expr;siiy disavowed the compact which Mr Parnell entered into with Mr Gladstone prior to his release from Eilmainbam Gaol.
