Accident at Lincoln. —A providential esoape from serious, it not fatal, injury was experienced on Thursday afternoon by a carpenter named Walter Terry, who was engaged in finishing the addition to the district sohool buildings. He had ocoasion to ascend to the roof, and while working there the piece of timber upon which he wti standing suddenly gave way, and he was precipitated to the ground. Fortunately he waa able to partially break the force of the fall by grasping at a ladder which was placed against the eaves, carrying it with him in his descent. His injuries appeared to contest chiefly of a fractured elbow and a severe sprain of the right ankle, in addition to a serious shaking. Dr. Preston, who was oal'.ed in, advised the sufferer's removal to his home in Ohristohurch, for whioh place he left by the evening train.
