In the cricket match Australians v. the Orleans Club at Twickenham, Palmer bowled splendidly, taking six wickets for 99 runs. In their first innings the Australians had lost, at the close of the day's play, four wickets for 55 runs. Murdoch was caught out for 32, and Giffen not out 22.

The cricket match, Australians v the Orleans Club, was continued to-day at Twickenham, when the Australians were all disposed of for a total of 75. Giffen was stumped for 2-4 and McDonnell was caught for 25. The bowling of the Englishmen was dead on the wickets, and the Australians followed on with their second innings, and when stumps wore drawn for the day had put together 240 runs for nine wickets. Murdoch was not out for 106, having played a splendid innings, only giving one chance. McDonnell and Jones were both bowled for 28. The match was drawn in favor of the Englishmen. There was a large attendance at the match to-day, but the weather was showery. The bowling of the Orleans club was dead on the wickei, and the fielding was excellent. In the House of Commons to-day a motion giving precedence to the Irish Repression Bill, which had been introduced by the Government was carried by a substantial majority, and it was further decided that the question of payment of arrears of rent in Ireland should be dealt with after the Repression Bill. The House will sit to-morrow for the special purpose of dealing with the latter measure, which was read a second time to-day by a majority of 112.
