[PEESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM ] 'IIMA.RU, May 18. The steamer Waitaki will be employed tomorrow to tow off the ship City of Perth which is quite afloat. No more bodies have been recovered. The enquiry into the wreck of the Benvenue was commenced to-day. Tue sale ot the wreck takes place tomorrow. It is still a question whether more person* were not drowned on Sunday iast than Jsst telegraphed. In order to gain further information, all who went cut in the various boats have been requested to meet to-morrow to compare notes. Bv this means it is hoped to ascertain exactly who are missing, A lady named Hacon, writes to the “limaru Herald" to cuggesa mat tne ladies bestir themselves to provide a lifeboat for the port. She says’—“l can do but little, but I will give £5 to start a subscription, and if the women of Timaru will join me I will organise a working committee to enable us to devise a plan to give the port a boat that will, humanly speakieg and with God's help, save life. Let our gentlemen look to the steam tug.” INVEHOARQILL. May 18. A meeting was held to-night re the disaster at Timaru, when a committee was appointed to raise subscriptions in tho town and district.

The Mayor of Lyttelton advertises that suV scriptions in aid of the relief of the sufferers by the late wrecks at Timaru will be gladly received at the Lyttelton Borough Council Chamber*.
