[BEFTEES TELEGRAMS.I LONDON, May 16. Consols are unchanged at 101 j, and New Zealand securities at the following quotations ; —Five per Cent. 10 40 Loan, 10G ; Five per Cent. 1889, 103, ex div. ; Four-and-Half per Cent., 1879-1904 loan, 103 k Colonial broadatuffs aro dull. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, remains at 545; New Zealand do, 51s; Adelaide flour, ex store, 365. Australian, tallow is firm, at 43s 6d for best beef, and 44s for best mutton.
The May-June series of Colonial wool auctions opened to-day with a catalogue of 6300 bales. There was a fair attendance of buyers, and the bidding was marked with good spirit. The closing prices of the last auctions were well maintained. The series will close on the 4th July.
(Evening). At to-day’s wool sale, merinos were in request, and a good demand was experienced for the lots cf this description on the catalogue.
