Sir, —According to your instructions we have made a practical test and thorough examination of the following Sewing Machines, viz., the Wheeler and Wilson, Jones and Oo , Wertheitn, and the Davis, and the results of our experiments are set forth in the tabulated statement attached. We find that the Wertheim and Jonrs a!' of the Singer type and similar In construction, and should bo classed in the same order. The Wheeler and Wilaon differs In construction, but the results of our experiments are similar to the former named. Ab regards the DAVIS, we cannot but agree with the jury that it is very feuperlor to any of tho others, and went through every test to our entire satisfaction.
