[eeutee's TELEGRAMS.] LONDON, May 11. Arrived—Ships Hurunni, from Port Chalmers (January 31st); and the Canterbury, from the same port (February 21st). Iu the House of Commons to-day the Right Hon. W. E, Gladstone introduced his Bill providing means for the better repression of crime in Ireland. The salient features of the measure are as follows: —The appointment of a Commission of Judges to try cases without juries in disturbed districts; domiciliary visits by tho police; expulsion from Ireland of foreigners who may be considered dangerous, and the summary conviction of night prowlers ; tho Executive also to be invest •;! with the widest powers for dealing with illegal societies, meetings, and inflaming journalists. The operation of the measure is to extend over a period of three years. The Bill was read a first time this afternoon. The Parnellite members consider the measure unnecessarily stringent, and inveigh against it in strong terms.

PARIS, May 11

In the Chamber of Deputies last night M. De Freycinet, Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated with reference to the present crisis in Egypt, that the British and French Governments would continue to act in concert, and were resolved to maintain the independence of that country. M. De Freycinet further stated that communications had been addressed to the European Courts with a view of ascertaining what line of action the Powers proposed to take in the matter.
