[bbuteb's telegrams.] LONDON, May 9. Consols are unchanged at 101$. New Zealand Five Per Cent. 10-40 Loan has declined to 106; and Five Per Cent. 1889 Loan to 103, ex div.; Four and a half Per Cent. 1879-1904 Loan is unchanged at 103$. The markets for colonial produce remain at yesterday's quotations. May 10.
The Dublin cabman, who was yesterday arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the assassination of Lord Cavendish and Mr Burke, has been released. His namo is Moore, and it has been ascertained that he has recently arrived from America. It is stated, however, that several farther arrests have been made. A reward of £IO,OOO has been offered for the discovery of the murderers. The police aro sanguine of success. The comments of the Press indicate that the appointment of Mr G. O. Trevelyan as Chief Secretary for Ireland, has met with general approval both in England and Ireland. It is announced that Mr G. C. B. Hamilton, Accountant-General of the Admiralty, will succeed the late Mr Burke as permanent Under Secretary for Ireland.
The homeward mails via Suez and Brindisi, which left Melbourne on Marsh 30th, were delivered here to-day.
