OXFORD HORTICULTURAL AND POULTRY ASSOCIATION.
The annual general meeting of this association was held at Hale's Oxford Hotel on Tuesday, the 9th inst. There was a attendance of members, and the Bev. John Sheldon was voted to the chair. The annual balance sheet was read, which showed a credit balance of £8 5s 2d, and was adopted by the meeting. A letter was read from Mr Nalder, giving notice of legal proceedings, unless the special prize for cactuses at the Autumn show be paid to him; but Mr Nalder having ultimately proposed that the dispute be referred to Ohriotohuroh Horticultural Society to decide, it was agreed to call a special meeting within twenty-ono days to consider the proposition. It was decided that all prize money not claimed within one month revert to the society. The meeting then prcescdeu to elect effijors for the current year, with the following result :—President, John E. Gorton j vicepresidents, D. Sladden, Dr. Wold, A. Naldor, Joseph Pearson; committee, Bev. John Sheldon, O. Petrie, J. Stevenson, CK A. White, P. Smith, J. Lough, S. Love, W. F. Pearson, B. H. Parish, A. J. Strangman, D. Mardon; hon. secretary and treasurer, O. It was dooided to pay the prizes at the rate of fourpence per point, and that all future meetings bo held in the Mechanics" liutitute.
Votes of thanks were passed to the retiring officors and committee (especial mention being made of tho secretary), to Mr Hale for the use of the room, and to the chairman. [Ehe meeting then adjourned,
