Ambeeley,—A meeting of those interested in initiating a Horticultural Society in the -district was held in the anteroom of the Town Hall on Thursday afternoon. Considering that notices to attend had only been sent, out two or throe daja, and only within the district, there was a good attendance. Mr T. Douglas in the chair. Four gentlemen were appointed a provision ! ccmrnittea to obtain information re the working of horticultural societies. It was resolved to hold the next meeting on Tnursday next, which would be duly advertised, inviting the residents of Leithfiold, Balcairn, Softon, and Broomfield lor their oo operation in the movement.
