THE SCULLING RACE.
SECOND EDITION.
VICTORY FOR HANLAN.
[eEUTEE’B TELEGRAMS.! LONDON, May 1. The sculling race between Edward Hanlan, of Toronto, champion of the world, and Edward Triekett, of Sydney, for £SOO aside, took place to-day over the usual course on the Thames, and resulted in a victory for Hanlan by four lengths. Latest.
Hanlan’s victory over Triekett was the easiest that can bo imagined. He stopped three times during the race, and literally “played” with Triekett. The weather was very fine, the sun shining brightly, and the water was perfectly smooth. Large crowds of people witnessed the contest from the banks of the river all along the course.
