A muff costume match was played in Mr Parnham’s paddock, Fuller street, kindly lent for the occasion, on Saturday afternoon, between a team of members of the club, in fancy dress costumes, and a number of gentlemen selected upon the ground. The proceedings opened upon the arrival of the players in an unicorn drag driven by Mr G. P. Milsom and attended by a brass band, All the dresses were very good, and groat amusement was derived by the spectators at tho ludicrous antics of tho clown Sambo, banes, harlequin, the piebald man, and other characters, while Henry the VIII, represented by a portly publican, looked on and fielded with a certain amount of kingly dignity.
