CHRISTCHURCH. Satubday, Apbil 29, [Before E. Beetharh, Esq., E.M.] Dbuneeknebs,—For first offences a man and a woman were each fined ss. Thomas Duly was fined ss.
Shopufting. —Franoia Coyne was charged with stealing from the shop of J. Johnson, clothier, of Colombo street, on April 27tb, a pair of trouser* and a vest, valued at 22* 6d. He had taken them up while passing the shop, was seen, followed, and the article* were found on him. The police gave him a very bad character, and having been convicted for similar offences several times previously, he was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment with hard labor.
