It is denied that there were any cases of smallpox on hoard the P. and O. Company’s steamship Carthage when she arrived at Albany.
SYDNEY, April 27.
A Royal Commission has been appointed to inquire into and report upon the construction of various theatres in this city and the provision that has boon made to prevent loss of life through fire or other panic. An offer has been made by a number of gentlemen in this city who propose to form a company or corporation for constructing a bridge across the harbor, from the North Shoro to Flagstaff Hill. It is probable that a Bill will be introduced into the Assembly to authorise the construction of the bridge.
