OUR PUBLIC LIBRARY.
To the Editor of the Globe. ' Hey! Johnny Cope, are ye no wauking yet.” Sir, —A long time before the let of April Dr. Turnbull advertised in the public papers that, as soon as he was ready, he would call a _meeting of the subscribers to the Public Library, presumedly for the purpose of endeavoring with their assistance to ameliorate matters there. Since then subscribers have diligently watched the papers for the promi,ed notice of the meeting, for they were greatly interested therein, but up to the protent time it has not appeared. Has Dr. Turnbnll spoken In haste and repented at leisure ? or is the mountain still in labor F Without wishing indecorously to hurry Dr. Turnbull’s movements, subscribers cannot help thinking that the Doctor requires rather a long time to get ready upon a subject which, as a nnit of the governing body, one would not be unreasonable in imagining he should, as a matter of course, have at his finger ends. It is, however, to be hoped that Pr. Turnbnll will be able to get ready before the subscribers have entirely exhausted their remaining PATIENCE.
