THE EXHIBITION.
There was a very large attendance at the Exhibition on Saturday, both morning and evening, and the performances of the Austrian Band were greatly enjoyed. Mr Dilworth has just comploted a very pretty case, containing the chooclate manufactures of Messrs. J. S. Fry and 00., of Bristol. It is most temptingly decorated, and was the centre of attraction during tho day. One of the most amusing portions of the Exhibition is the etar.d of the American Novelty Company, near the Oriental Tea Company's trophy. Hero Mr Bailey performs a number of oonjuring tricks most deftly to the intense delight ef large audienoes. His flow of langusga is only to be equalled by the dexterity of his fingers. He has also a novelty in the shape of a very handsomely appointed model printing press, where visitors can have their visiting cards printed very neatly in an incredibly short space of time. Indeed there are few parts of the exhibition where one can spend half an hour more pleasantly than at the stand of the American Novelty Company. In the New Zealand Court Mr J. L. Fleming has opened out a very neat trophy of the manufactures of the Hematite Paint Company at the Thames. Here are displayed samples of the paint in all colors, and it is spoken of very highly by those who have used it. Near this trophy are displayed some very fine specimens of Kidderminster carpets, exhibited by Mr A. J. White, the looal agent for the English manufacturers. In the bay occupied by the Pbess Company a very handsome addition has been made to the exhibits of bookbinding in the shape of a •folio volume of Knight's Shakespeare, very artistically bound in the Hirleian style. The ornamentations are in gold and black, the groundwork being soarlot morocco. Mr Soott, the representative of W. 8. Kimball •nd Co., tbe well-known "Vanity Pair" tobacco manufacturers, has got his oase of new goods in order. The various products of the firm are very artistioally iu a handsome black and gold case, whioh, however, exhibits sigus of having received somewhat rough usage. The election of jurors will take place this morning in the conoert hall, and no doubt during the present week the gentlemen selected in the .various sections will get to work. Beferting to the suggestions mado some days ago as to the reduction of the price now charged for children, it may be noted that if acted upon it would tend greatly to increase the attendance, as the charge of Is for each child comes asmewhat heavy. Mr G. O. Allan, the representative here of Allan and Co., has arranged a recital in the spec'al art gallery, in which Signori Giorza and Enrico Surge, assisted by Mr A. H. Crosbie, will take part. The programme comprises duos for American organ and piano, including selections from Beethoven, &0. The organ solos by Signer GHorza will include the_ ;l War inarch of the priests" from " Athalie," and an arrangement by Sigcor Giorza of themes from " Les Huguenots." He will also play a piano aolo, aq arrangement by himself of themes from "La Traviata." Signor Sorge's piano solo combination will be a valse caprice composed by the player, and a apinnlied by Litolff. Mr Crosbie will contribute two songs. Altogether the programme, which consists of nine numbers, is a most attractive one, and considering that there will be no oharge beyond the ordinary one for admission to the special art gallery, no doubt there will be a large attendance.
