Sir, —According to your instructions we have male a practical test and thorough examination of the following Sewing Machines, viz , the Wheeler and Wilson, Jones and Co., Wertheim, and the Davis, and the results of our experiments are set forth in the tabulated statement attached. We find that the Wertheim and Jonoß all of the Singor type and similar In construction, and should be classed in the same order. The Wheeler and Wilson differs in construction, but the results of our experiments are similar to the form«r named. As regards the DAVIS, we cannot but agree with the jory that it is very tuperior to any of tho others, and went through every teat to our entire satisfaction.
