Mails close at the Chief Poet Office for the following places (subject to the necessary altortlions) as under THURSDAY, APRIL 20. For Chatham Islands, per Omaha, at 4.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 5 p m.; guard’s van, 5 25 p.m. train For Akaroa and Otago, per Wanaka, at 9 40 a.tn ; late fee letters, at 9.50 a m.; guard’s van, 10.25 a.m. train. For Aorthern ports, per Te Anau, at 1.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 2 p.m. ; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. SATURDAY, APRIL 22. For the United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, Cape of Good Hope, Natal (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, and Northern Ports of New Zealand, &c., per Hawea, as follows : Ordinary letters, at 6.30 p.m. ; late fee letters, 7 p.m. ; books and newspapers, 6.30 p.m. ; money orders, 3 p.m.; registered letters, 5 p.m. ; guard’s van, 8.10 p.m. train.
