Consols aro unchanged at 10 New Zealand Five per Cent. 10-40 Loan and Five per Cent. 1889 Loan both remain at 105 ; tho Four-and a-Half per Cent. Loan has advanced to 103 J. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, remains at 545, New Zealand do at 51s; Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 365. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 2,420,000 quarters. Australian tallow is unchanged at 42s for best beef, and 45s for best mutton. Scotch pig iron is unchanged. No. 1, f o.b. in Clyde, is selling at 50s per ton for 26in gauge; and best Sydney copra has advanced to £l6 per ton. Australian Wines in the English Market. The " Times" in the course of an article to-day refers to the fact of tbo great reduction which has been made manifest during the past year in the sale of alcoholic liquors in Great Britain, and expresses the opinion that the falling off in the consumption of spirits should greatly stimulate the sale of colonial winos in the English market. Tho " Times" concludes by urging Australian growers to push tho sale of their wines in England with energy.
