THE EXHIBITION.

There was a goodly attendance at the Exhibition yesterday, and the two programmes of music submitted by the Austrian Band were heartily applauded. Mr Wamsley is still hard at work at his tea trophy in the British Court, which it is expected will be finished on Saturday. He hopes to be able on the same day to open his tearoom, and to offer the ladies a cup of tea, a generosity which no doubt will be largely taken advantage of. In the British Court also there has been opened a case from Ward and Payne, Sheffield, the eminent tool and sheep shear makers. The exhibit comprises an extensive and nicely arranged assortment of well finished ohiselo, angers, adzes, hedge bills, &0., and last, but nob least, their now celebrated double-hand sheep shears, over which W. and P. have spent great trouble to please our colonial shearers with great success. The exhibits are represented by B, Beeoe, of Colombo street. Reference was made yesterday to the house manufactured of cigarettes exhibited in the bay of Mr Jubal Fleming. This is a most ingenious piece of work. The house, entirely constructed of cigarettes, is of the well known T shape—the verandah is supported by gigantic cigarettes, the roof being thatched with tobacco. Every detail is well carried out, even to the bay window and muslin curtains. The cottage has been appropriately named the “Kiwi,” after the well known brand of cigarettes made by Mr Fleming. The maker, as already stated, is Mr A. Lamb, and it is to be hoped that his ingenuity and taste will receive the reward of a prize from the jurors. It was the source of attraction yesterday to a large number of visitors.
