Sir, —According to your instructions we have male a practical test and thorough examination of the following Sewing Machine*, viz., the Wheeler and Wibon, Jones and Co., Wertheitn, and the Davis, and the results of onr experiments are set f jrth in the tabulated statement attached. We find that the Werthelm and Jones all of the Singer type and similar In construction, and should bo classed in the same order. The Wheeler and Wilson differs In construction, but the results of our experiments are similar to the former named. As regards the DAVIS, we cannot but agree with the jnry that it is very buperlor to any of the others, and went through every test to our entire satisfaction.
