The barque Lorgonoa, from Hobart, in coming to the wharf, fouled the barque Aloester, and carried away her own foretopmast and part of the rigging. Medievalism Unappreciated. The old English fayre, at Devon port, proved a failure. WELLINGTON, April 10. The Rain. The weatnei? has been exceedingly bad sinoe Saturday morning. The sports to-day had to be postponed in consequence. They are expected to take place on Saturday next.
Man MissingThe Sbella, whioh arrived from the West Coast this morning, brought inlelligenoe that a bird oatober named Wheeler, at Preservation Inlet, has been missiDg for three or four weeks, and it is feared that he has lost his life. DUNEDIN, April 10. The BainThe weather continues wretched. Tho heavy rain ceased this morning, but a cold south-west wind, with persistent light rain, has since oontinued. No serious damage to railway lines or otherwise is reported, but many localities oro slightly flooded. There is no present prospect of a change. INVBROAKGILL, April 10. Obituary. The Kev. W. P. Tanner, M.A. for the last twenty years, incumbent of St. John's Churoh, Invercargill, died yesterday. FireKeley's store, at Switzor's. was totally destroyed by fire this morning. The insurance on the stock and premises amounted to £2250.
