SNG-LISH & FOREIGN. [bstjtee's telegeams.] LONDON. April 6. The MarketsThe total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 2,550,000 quarters. The markets are now closed for the Easter holidays until Tuesday next The Preach and the Arabs. It has transpired that the situation of affairs in Egypt has lately been under the consideration of the Great Powers, and in : view of the position taken up by the Nationalist Ministry and Assembly of Notables an unanimous agreement has been entered into by the Powers to demand the modification ef those clauses of Egyptian organic law upon which the Notables base their claim for the control of the Budget, and by which the powers of the controllers-general have been impaired. It has further transpired that the Porte has not taken part in the recent negotiation, and was not consulted by the Powers. PAE3S, April 7. Telegrams- have been received from Tunis reporting that the French troops succeeded in engaging with the insurgents Arabs yesterday, and that a desperate battle was-fought, which resulted in the annihilation of the Arab forces. Bon Amena, principal leader cf the rebels, was in command of them during battle, but subsequently escaped. April 8. Later despatches from Tunis state that , after their recent defeat the Arabs fled for refuge across the- border into Tripoli. ST. PETERSBURG, April 8. The Dynamite MineThe authorities have succeeded in discovering the dynamite mine, the existence of which was recently reported to them. A mine was constructed in the neighborhood of Moscow, and was intended to destroy the lino of railway over which it was expected the Gzar would travel. Investigations which have since been made by the police have led to the arrest of eighty persons who are charged with being connected with the projected assassination of His Majesty. The Outrages on the JewsA renewal of the outrages upon Jews in Southern Russia has recently taken place. Attacks in their worst forms have been made upon the Jewish quarters of various towns. At ono township near Cherson, hundreds of houses have been demolished, and their occupants brutally treated. CAIRO, April 6. Smart WorkIt has transpired that Ismael Takonb, Minister of Finance, has hypothecated the public revenue in order to raise money. Since the disclosure was made the financial agent whom he employed in his negotiations has been expelled the country. April 7. The encashment of the revenue by the Minister of Finance is the subject of warm criticism. Arabi Pasha, the leader of the National Party, has, however, repudiated the transactions of his colleague, and disavows all knowledge of them.
