RESIGNATION OF THE MINISTRY.

[PRESS association telegrams.] WELLINGTON, April 10 The whole of the Ministry hare resigned but it is understood they will hold office until arrangements are completed for carry* ing on the business. WELLINGTON, April 8. Mr Hall is a little better to-day, but is still in a very unsatisfactory condition. Nothing authentic has yet transpired relative to the Ministerial situation, nor do I expect to learn anything fresh for a few days. The Premier has been advised by his medical adviser to relinquish office owing to bad state of health, and Dr. Grace understands that Mr Hall agrees with his advice. The following is the letter written to Major Atkinson by Dr. Grace : “ April 4th, 1883. «< Dear Atkinson, —I write to ask that you shall relieve Mr Hall from all responsibility in regard to public business at the earliest datejpossiblo. You know that I have been prognosticating for more than twelve months ha must infallibly break down. Now that the crash has come, I am anxious in the interest of Mrs Hall and the_ children to conserve his remaining elasticity for the purposes of constitutional repair, “ Yours faithfully, “ Morgan S. Grace ” April 9. A private telegram from Auckland to night says Mr Whitaker resigned this morning. It is believed that he did so through certain land transactions.
