The Customs duties collected at Christchurohlon Tuesday. April 4th, were as follows: Spirits, JE752 0a 4d; tobacco, £145 12s ; cigars, £54 2s 3d ; wine, £65 5s ; beer, £6 5s ; sngnr, £lllsa 8d; tea, £3B 8s 6d; goods by weight £4 3s 4d ; ad valorem, £!0 19s ; other duties, £2 15a 4d. Total, £lO9l 7s sd. - COMMBBCIAL TELEGBAMS. Napier, April 5. At a sale of shares yesterday, the following prices were realised: —National Mortgage, 31s : National Insurance, 32s 6d ; Standard, 15s 9d to 82s 9d ; Colonial Bank, 47s 6d; Southern Gross Petroleum, 2s 6d. Wellington, April 5. Messrs Laery and Campbell report:—Pears were #nly in very small demand at 8s per case; quinces brought I\d per lb ; walnuts, Sd to Sd per lb; Adelaide grapes, 26s to 28s per case ; cocoanuts, 12s per hundred. Eggs brought Is 6d per dosen ; fowls, 3s per pair. Cheese, hams, and bacon continue without alteration. Potatoes move off badly. Onions are still unsaleable.
