HAWKESBURY BACES. f"BKTJTBB'S TIIEOBASI. I SYDNEY, Aprill. At the Hawkesbury Racing Club Meeting at Bandwick today, the Hawkesbury Handicap was won by Drummer, Sweet William, second, Hawthorne third, after a well contested race. MORNING GALLOPS. Some good work was got through on Saturday morning. Butler's two were the first to work, Luna going two miles, Tiinket picking her up the last half, and finished home fast. Chancellor then was sent twice round, and Matuku followed, also alone, tbe same distance at a good strong gallop. Welcome Jack and Curate then were Bent a three-quarter-mile spin on the turf. Lady Emma and Legerdemain were the next to follow, and were sent at a good rattling gallop once round. Tasman, with a rug on her, went twice round, at the second turn being picked up by Trovatore, and the two in company finished fast. Q.uamby and Canard were the next to work, the former going twioo and the latter three times round on the plough. Free Lance by herself then covered the Champagne distance, and Whitbatch and Ace of Hearts oolt followed at a paoe twioe round. Nonsense and Siesta oantered, and were followed by Holderness, with The Joker for a companion, on the turf, and went a good mile and a half gallop, The Joker pulling off at the three-quarter pott, Nonpariel then bringing him home. Hornby and Oa Dit did steady work, and Digby Grand, The Poet and Toi Toi filly only walking exercise.

OHOKA AND EYBETON JOCKEY CLUB. A meeting of intending members of tho newly-formed club wan held at Fountain's Junction Hotel, Ohoka, on Friday evening. About twenty were present, Mr G. Bailey, president, occupying the chair. It was resolved that the members' subscription be £2 2s per annum, and about thirty were nominated and elected. Mr W. Pearson, M.H.R. for the Ashley district, who was present by invitation, was requested to take steps, if possible, to secure the passing of an Act in the General Assembly granting power to the Eyreton Domain Board to allow the club the use of the recreation reserve, and to make a oharge on oertain days of the year when the racing might be held. Mr Pearson expressed his willingness to assist in forwarding the views of the olub as far as possible. The secretary was requested to write a number of business letters. One member raised the question of the erection of a grand stand near the course, whioh it was decided to leave in abeyance till the result of the efforts to be made by the member of the district was known. The next meeting of the olub was then fixed to be held on tho first Tuesday of August. Tbe olub then adjourned.
