THE EXHIBITION MUSIC.
To the Editor of the Globe.
Sir—Will you allow mo, through your columns, to state that there is a widespread feeling of diso.ttisfaction at the manner the solos were rendered at the last rehearsal of the Exhibition music. It was paiolnlly evident that the soloists were overweighted Tho lady's voice was scarcely audible in some parts of the room. With respect to the gentleman, why did he not sing the music as written ? If the compass of his voico is such that it 1b beyond his range, hi? own good sense ought to tell him to give place to some one more able, It will be a matter of deep regret if the solo 3 to be sung at the opening ceremony are marred by the injudicious selection of the singers To put the matter beyond the shadow of a doubt, I would suggest that seme of the professionals now in Cbrlstchurch should be asked to take the solos. I feel sure they would willingly oblige, and thereby prevent unfavorable criticism on this portion of the performance. Yours, &c, VOX.
