[ REUTER’S TELEGRAMS.! LONDON, March 30 The Arrears of Rent Question.
In the House of Commons to-day the Premier, in reply to a question, stated that the Government would consider during the recess what should he done regarding the non-payment of arrears of rents in Ireland. The Cloture Question. The debate on the cloture proposals of Government is now proceeding in the House of Commons. During this afternoon’s sitting, an amendment introduced by Mr Marriott, a Liberal member for Brighton, condemning the proposal that cloture should be votablo by a simple majority of the House, was negatived on a division by 313 to 279, The Fate of a J-P. News to hand from Ireland states that Mr Herbert, a Magistrate of Derry, has been murdered. Prince LeopoldPrince Leopold is at present indisposed, and it is expected that his marriage will in consequence have to be postponed. NEW YORK, March 30. Loss of Lives by Fire.
Telegrams are to hand from Memphis, Tennessee, reporting that a steamer has been totally destroyed by fire at the wharf at that town, and that thirty-five persons have been burned to death, mostly women and children.
