The steamer Taiaroi arrived from Fiji at 6 a.m. Sho brings the Fiji papers, which have accounts ot tho recent hurricane. The Taiaroa dnring her last passage from Auckland to Levuka had a very rough tfme, the docks being coutiuuonsly swept, and at one time the starboard rails wre under water. Both paßseugers and orow were at the pumps tor ionrs, and that the steamer pnlled through is considred a niiravle. The evidence on every hand is conclusive as to the fact that very wild work had been going on during tho hurricane. One boat on tho starboard side crushed np like an eggshell, and is now only fit to he sold for firewood, and others aro aerionsly injured. Ono of the boats on the port side was badly damaged, and had they been wanted there was but one that could have floated, inc stout iron railing running round the poop was driven in and twisted up like the wire on the neck of a soda water bottle by the rush of water, ine doors were swept off the captain's and chief engineer's cabins, and the whole vossel has a dilapidated and forlorn appearance, winch sufficiently attests to the danger slie has rassed through. The schooner Red Coat, from Auckland to Levuka, arrived on Mnroh £2ud. Considerable damage was done by the hurricane.
