The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Saturday. March 18th, were as follows : Spirits, £2 3 18s 9d ; tobacco, .£122105; cigars, £l4 4s ; wine, £ll 18a ; beer, £1418» ; goods by •weight, £l9 4s lOd ; ad valorem. £293 4s; other duties, £3 14s. Total, £703 la 7d. LAND SALE. Mr Charles Clark reports the sale on Saturday of 354 acres, part of the Khuddlan Estate, Southbridge, at £26 10s psr acre for cash. COMMERCIAL TELEGRAMS. Dunedin, March 20. The British and New Zealand Mortgage Agency Company, Limited, have received the following telegram, dated London, March 18th : —“ Since our last telegram there is an increased demand for wools of breed and quality. Prices for super grease show an average rise of Jd per lb; all other sorts are unchanged. For coarse crossbreds and inferior and faulty wools, prices are irregular. The tone is firm.”
