[keUTEE’s TELEGRAMS.] LONDON, March 18. The MarketsConsols have declined to lOli. New Zealand securities—Five per Cent. 10-40 Loan has advanced to 104; Five per Cent. (1889) Loan remains at 1041; Four-and-a-Half per Cent. (1879-1904) Loan has advanced to 103. Australian tallow and hreadatuffs are nnchanged. 10,600 bales were offered at to-day’s wool auction, and a fair demand was experienced. March 20. New War Vessel. A new ironclad was launched to-day from Pembroke dockyard. The ceremony was performed by the Duke of Edinburgh, and the vessel was christened the “ Edinburgh.” PARIS, March 18. A Sensible Press. The French Press generally urge that negotiations should bo re-opened between England and France for tbe conclusion of a fresb commercial treaty. BERLIN, March 18. Tottering Royalty. During a visit which he paid to Berlin Academy to-day, the Emperor slipped as he was descending the staircase and fell heavily. His Majesty was somewhat severely braised, and is now confined to his room. AMSTERDAM, March 20. Another Exhibition. It is announced that an Exhibition will be held at tbe Hague next year, chiefly for the display of colonial exhibits. All European states have consented to exhibit, and have appointed committees to attend to their interests at the Exhibition. CAPETOWN, March 19. Transvaal Hews. Intelligence is to hand from the Transvaal reporting that much disorder prevails in the South-west, owing to the relations between the Boers and the Natives. WASHINGTON, March 20. The Australian Mail BillCongress has adjourned the Bill providing for greater expedition in the overland transit of the homeward and outward Australian mails via San Francisco.
